Full Stack Engineer

NATURE OF WORK

The Full-Stack Engineer is responsible for adding new functionality to Encompass Onsite new products. Working on this high-volume, security intensive application, the Full-Stack Engineer develops, integrates, and delivers applications using front- end, back end, database and hosting tools; delivers software products independently using functional specifications; utilizes all layers of the stack to complete coding, UI/UX, database integrations; and uses automation frameworks for testing and deployment. This individual is experienced with AWS, API integration and cloud based architecture, is proficient in the utilization of a variety of development programming languages, and will use their strong communication skills to work cross-functionally with teams in Atlanta and other locations. In addition, our product portfolio will require this individual to listen actively and effectively to hiring managers and candidates.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Maintains/monitors customer contacts (owner, tenant), profiling customer needs/expectations and changes in customer priorities while development/implementing account retention strategies 
  • Develops and implements quality assurance methods and procedures, overseeing same and assessing quality levels achieved by individual Encompass employees 
  • Develop software applications and solutions based on documented business and system requirements. Write, edit, and debug code for assigned projects. Understand how applications operate, are structured, and how customers use them.
  • Provide assistance to the testing team and support personnel as needed to resolve application issues. Respond promptly and professionally to bug reports.
  • Take ownership of the delivery schedule and quality of work. Provide input and estimates about the effort required to build desired functionality.
  • Design applications for stability, scalability, and performance. Design solutions to problematic programming.
  • Use Test-driven Development (TDD) techniques to specify a detailed, executable design for your solution
  • Measures/assesses performance and potential of employees and recommends employees for current/future staffing needs 
  • Coordinates career development program for management/non-management employees, providing leadership in assessment, planning, and follow-up evaluation of staff, as well as participating in self-development through coaching, training, and other developmental opportunities 
  • Monitors/evaluates budgets and plans/coordinates future budget/special funding requests 
  • Remains knowledgeable in new product/service deliver and communicates same to for use/implementation on site 
  • Ensures associates work safely and utilize PPE when required 
  • Assist with the development and execution of the company’s strategic plans
  • Develops standardized processes and programs for the company 
  • Communicate the operating philosophy, objectives, and expectations to project personnel in a continuing effort to build the project team   
  • Support monthly, and quarterly scorecard performance reviews, or as requested by client 
  • Flexible to meet the needs and demands of a constantly changing work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of regulations and requirements of healthcare facilities
  • Effectively meet deadlines and troubleshoot issues while handling multiple priorities and projects
  • Able to work independently with limited direction and/or in a team capacity to handle complex technical issues while ensuring timely solutions
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and strong writing/documentation skills
  • Ability to lead and control financial results in a matrixed, multi-location field operation.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years of experience in full stack development building large-scale web applications
  • Strong JavaScript expertise and experience in modern UI frameworks (e.g., React/Redux, ES6)
  • Familiarity with Git
  • Extensive knowledge of the DOM, HTTP, CSS3 (e.g., Flexbox, Grid) and core web technology concepts
  • Ability to dive deep into specific client-side areas, like performance, cross-browser compatibility, animations, and accessibility
  • Experience with RESTful API design and development
  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch and Kibana basic concepts and querying
  • Working knowledge of standard AWS technologies, such as Lambda, SQS, and CloudWatch
  • Ability to practice disciplined software engineering (automated testing, code reviews and writing readable code)
  • Strong communication skills when talking about technical concepts
  • Passion for solving problems and providing the best experience for our users
  • Experience building A/B tests while providing a great user experience
  • React server-side rendering and code splitting experience
  • Experience with Mapbox GL and Google's APIs
  • Docker and Postman experience

  • Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact
  • Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine

  • Must be able to access a variety of work sites for inspection

  • General supervision is received from a professional supervisor who confers on difficult problems and reviews completed work for quality of professional results. Tasks are usually performed under little direct supervision allowing use of independent judgment
